The nRF Edge Impulse application, developed in partnership with Edge Impulse, facilitates the training and deployment of embedded machine learning models on the Nordic Thingy:53 via Edge Impulse Studio. Each Nordic Thingy:53 device is equipped with firmware that ensures compatibility with the nRF Edge Impulse mobile application. This app empowers users to upload raw sensor data from their mobile devices to the cloud-based Edge Impulse Studio and seamlessly deploy fully trained machine learning models to the Nordic Thingy:53 using Bluetooth® Low Energy (LE).

Users can select from existing projects within Edge Impulse Studio or initiate a new project, with the capability to collect sensor data from a comprehensive array of sensors integrated into the Nordic Thingy:53, including:

• Accelerometer
• Microphone
• Magnetometer
• Light Sensor
• Temperature, Pressure, Humidity, and Air Quality Sensors
• Inertial Sensors (Accelerometer and Magnetometer)
• Light and Environment Sensors
• Light and Inertial Sensors
• Environmental and Inertial Sensors
• Combinations of Light, Environment, and Inertial Sensors

The application allows for the categorization of collected sensor data as either training or testing data. Users can perform inference directly within the app using the machine learning models deployed to the Nordic Thingy:53.
